• Capital
  Capital support for the purchase of land and/or buildings is outside the criteria except in special circumstances.

• Scholarships
  The funding of scholarship fees (tuition, books, room, and board) is outside the criteria except in special circumstances.

• Grant Making Cycle
  New proposals will be considered at the April and October meetings of the Board. The deadlines for receiving requests are March 1 and September 1.

• Definition: Local/National/International
  A project with “local focus” must reside in the greater Sarasota, Florida area. A “national” project is one that has an activity or focus in multiple places throughout the country. An “international” project activity, regardless of the sponsoring organization's geographic location, must take place outside the United States.

• Qualified Applicants
  Applicants must provide:
  a) Copy of their 501(c)(3) IRS tax exempt letter.
  b) Background information on their organization.
  c) Copy of their recent audit or statement of income and expense.
  d) List of the Board of Directors, their addresses and occupations.
